Attukal  Bhagavathy Temple

Attukal Bhagavathy Temple (Mudippura), situated in the district of Kerala state of Thiruvananthapuram, is one of Kerala's main Hindu pilgrim centers.

Attukal Ponkala is one of the major festivals here, mostly by womenfolk. Every year, for performing Attukal Ponkala and other rituals, thousands of Hindu women flow to Attukal Bhagavathy Temple.

Attukal Ponkala will be held for days starting on Bharani Day in Kumbham, (February-March). 
This is one of the most famous temples in Kerala where women gain prominence and as a result, the temple is popularly known as the women’s Sabarimala.




Chakulathkavu Devi Temple

The Chakulathkavu Devi temple is between the river Pamba and the river Manimala is open to all religions. This shrine is especially popular among devotees of women. The Pooja conducted here by Naree (women) is popular. Cleaning their feet and pooja honors chosen women of all ages. Here the Ponkaala attracts thousands of devotees. The temple's presiding deity, situated on the boundary between the districts of Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha, is the goddess Vanadurga.


Ariankavu Shree Shastha Temple



Ariankavu is famous for the shrine dedicated to Sree Sastha, located on the Kollam-Shenkottai Highway. The major festivals here are Mandala Pooja and Trikalyanam celebrated in December.

Everyone knows that a bachelor is Swami Ayyappan. Yet the Puranas also state that he married during one of his avatars. At a location named Ariankavu in Kerala, evidence of this celestial wedding can be seen. The lord sits on an elephant in this temple with his consort. His daughters are Poorna and Pushkala, according to legend. It is suspected that Pushkala belongs to the Sourashtrian family, a community well known for silk weaving that once supplied Travancore's Maharaja with silk.

It is said that the temple has been celebrating Manikandan's wedding for the past 200 years, during the month of Margazhi. Approximately 5 km.
